How We Became the Answer

10.3K AI Citations in 90 Days.

We ran citAEOtion on one of our own sites, used the crawler data to decide which pages to work, and watched Bing's citation count climb from a flat line to 10,300. This is the loop, with the receipts. The site is ours, so we can show you everything.

The steering wheel

How we knew where to aim

The Bing report tells you what already worked. The citAEOtion dashboard tells you what to work next. Same site, same sixty days: 18,683 AI crawler visits across 3,946 pages, logged bot by bot at the server. Put the crawl list next to the citation list and the pattern is hard to miss.

The crawl column moves first. The citation column follows. A page with heavy crawls and thin citations is not a failure. It is the work queue.
The story

What actually happened

The site is The Streamer Agency, and it is ours. We use it as the proving ground for everything citAEOtion does, which means we can publish the data without asking a client's permission. Every number on this page comes from Bing Webmaster Tools or our own crawler logs, and both update daily.

It started when Bing began citing one of our pages. Most site owners would never have noticed. We did, because citAEOtion was already logging every AI crawler that touched the site: which bot, which page, which day, how often it came back. When the citations started, we could see exactly what the crawlers had been doing on that page before and after.

So we worked the winner first. We edited that flagship page repeatedly, checking the crawler response after each pass. It is now cited across roughly fourteen different topic categories, and Bing's report shows 133 distinct real questions being answered with that one page. One page, one hundred thirty-three answers. That did not happen by accident and it did not happen blind.

Then we let the crawlers set the schedule. The dashboard's most crawled panel is the tell. When a page starts climbing that list, the bots are already interested in it, and interest shows up in the crawl data before it shows up in citations. So we work whatever is popping there and move it up the citation list. The second and third pages were both under 1,000 citations when we started. The how-to-start page went from 954 to 1,200. The platform page broke 1,000. Equipment went from 234 to 285. The flagship kept climbing too: 6.6K to 7.1K in the same window.

And underneath it all, the live fetches. In sixty days, ChatGPT reached into the site 3,334 times mid-conversation, pulling pages to answer questions real people were asking right then. That is not a score. That is an AI handing your business to a human as the answer, three thousand times.

What we changed on those pages stays ours. The method is the moat. But the loop that told us where to aim, when to work, and whether it worked - that loop is the product. It runs the same on a solo site, a brand's content hub, or a hundred client sites.

The loop

Measure. Learn. Reframe. Win.

1

Measure

citAEOtion logs every AI crawler on every page, from real server traffic. You see who reads you and what they take.

2

Learn

Pair it with the citation scoreboard and you know which pages are winning, which are close, and which are invisible.

3

Reframe

Work the pages the data points at. Ship the change and watch the crawlers come back for the fresh version.

4

Win

Citations climb. Then you do it again on the next page down the list, and the whole cluster compounds.

A prompt score cannot see any of this.

Prompt trackers ask an AI made-up questions and report where you rank. They cannot see which crawler read which page, whether your edit got re-crawled, or which pages are one push away from being cited. We could run this loop because we were reading the server, not guessing.
