Privacy Policy

Short version: the citAEOtion product watches the bots that crawl your website. It does not track your visitors, build advertising profiles, or sell data to anyone. Our own marketing website, citaeotion.ai, uses standard analytics and advertising cookies, explained below, and you can opt out at any time.

What citAEOtion actually collects on your site

citAEOtion reads your server traffic to identify automated crawlers - search bots, AI training bots, AI assistants, and scrapers. For each crawler visit we record technical details like the user agent, the page requested, the time, the HTTP status, and the crawler's category. That is data about machines hitting your site, not data about people.

What the product does not do

• The citAEOtion collector does not track, fingerprint, or profile the human visitors to your site.
• It does not add advertising trackers to your site, and we never sell your data or your visitors' data to third parties.
• We do not need names, emails, or personal details of your visitors to do our job, because our job is watching bots.

Account information

To run your account we store what you would expect: your name, email, billing details handled by our payment processor, and the list of sites you have connected. Payment card data is processed by Stripe and never touches our servers.

Your data is yours

The crawler data we collect for your sites belongs to you. You can export it or ask us to delete it. If you cancel, your data is retained for a short window in case you reactivate, then removed.

Cookies on citaeotion.ai

The citAEOtion dashboard uses only the cookies required to keep you logged in and run the app.

Our public marketing website (citaeotion.ai) also uses Google Analytics to understand which pages people read, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. These tools may set cookies and share information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type, and whether you made a purchase with Google and Meta. We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing this data with Meta for advertising may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state privacy laws, and you can opt out of it.

• Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: these cookies stay off unless you click Accept on our cookie banner.
• Visitors everywhere else: these cookies are on by default, and you can turn them off at any time with the button below.
• Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically.
